The Bell County Detention Center is a medium security facility located in Pineville, Kentucky. The facility houses both male and female inmates who have been arrested for either felony or misdemeanor charges. All inmate information can be seen on the jail roster. Inmates being held at the facility are serving out their sentence, awaiting trial, do not have a bond, or cannot afford a bond. The inmates are allowed to take GED classes while incarcerated. The current jailer, who is the person who oversees the entire facility, is Robin Venable.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive letters and postcards from friends and family while they are incarcerated. All incoming mail is inspected for contraband. The mail must be addressed to the inmate and must include their booking number which can be obtained by contacting the jail.

There are 4 different ways to add money to an inmate’s commissary account. Money can be mailed to the inmate in the form of a money order. The money order must be made out to the jail with the inmate’s name and booking number. Money can also be deposited using the kiosk located in the jail lobby. The lobby is open Monday through Friday from 6am to 0pm. The kiosk accepts cash, credit, and debit cards. Money can also be added using a 3rd party provider’s website called JailFunds. A debit or credit card is needed. The last way to add money to an inmate’s account is by contacting JailFunds at 1-855-836-3364.
