The Boyd County Detention Center is a minimum security facility located in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. The facility houses both female and male inmates who have been arrested on misdemeanor or felony charges and are awaiting trial. It also houses convicted inmates serving 12 months or less in jail. It also houses some inmates from the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Inmate information can be seen through the inmate roster. Inmates are allowed access to educational, addiction, and religious programs. The Jail Administrator, William Hensley, oversees the facility.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates can receive digital copies of mail from their friends and family while in jail. Any incoming mail will be inspected for contraband. Mail should be addressed to the inmate and must include their booking number. If you do not know the booking number, please contact the jail.

Money can be deposited into an inmate’s commissary account by using the JailFunds website. Most jail facilities will also accept a money order, made out to the jail, including the inmate’s name and booking number. You can also make a deposit by contacting JailFunds at 855-836-3364.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is done via the electronic tablet that each inmate has. Visitation hours are from 8 am to 11 pm daily. Each inmate is allowed 30 minutes of free visitation per week. Additional visits can be scheduled through Gettingout.com at a cost of $0.25 per minute. Visits can also be conducted through a kiosk at the jail.

The Boyd County Regional Detention Center has an online jail roster that lists all current inmates. Inmates can be sorted by first or last name. You can view the charges of the inmate, the booking date, a description of the inmate, upcoming court dates, and any bond amount.
