The Louisville Metro Department of Corrections is a minimum security facility located in Louisville, Kentucky. The facility houses both female and male inmates who have been arrested on misdemeanor or felony charges and are awaiting trial. It also houses convicted inmates serving 12 months or less in jail. It also houses some inmates from the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Inmate information can be viewed through an online roster. Inmates are allowed access to educational, religious, and counseling programs.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates can receive mail from friends and family. Any incoming mail will be inspected for contraband. Mail should be addressed to the inmate and must include their booking number. If you do not know the booking number, please contact the jail.

Money orders can be mailed or delivered to the jail to be deposited into inmates’ accounts. Money can be deposited through kiosks in the jail lobby or through Touch Pay Online. Deposits can be made over the phone at 888-497-2387.

Visitation Hours

Visits are done by video, either onsite or remotely. Each inmate is allowed two free weekly onsite visits per week. Remote visits are paid. All visits must be scheduled in advance. Onsite visitation is available daily, from 8 am – 9:50 am, 12 pm – 1:50 pm, and 5 pm – 9:50 pm.

The Louisville Metro Department of Corrections has an online roster of inmates. This roster includes information about the arrest date, inmate’s age and description, and the arresting agency.
