How to Send Mail or Package

Mail can be sent to inmates being held at the county jail. All incoming mail must be addressed with the inmate name and inmate ID number. A return address must be present on the envelope. Corrections officers inspect every letter coming into the county jail for contraband. If contraband is found, it will be either returned to the sender or handed over to the local authorities for an investigation.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are allowed to receive visitors while incarcerated. There are rules visitors must follow while visiting. Visitors must be appropriately dressed. Shoes are required. No short shorts, shirts or skirts. Shirts must have sleeves. Sundresses are permitted, but must have straps. No midriff can be exposed. All visitors must present a photo ID. Visitation hours are as follows:

Tuesdays are for county and federal male inmates from 8:30am to 11:30am and from 1pm to 4pm.

Thursdays are for county and federal female inmates from 8:30am to 11:30am and from 1pm to 4pm.

Saturdays are for county men inmates from 8:30am to 11:30am and from 1pm to 4pm, and for county women inmates from 4pm to 5pm.

The LaRue County Jail has an inmate jail roster available for the public to view. The roster lists all current inmates housed in the jail. Inmates can be searched by their first and last name. The jail roster lists the inmate’s full name, birth date, booking date, arresting agency, bond amount, and charges they were arrested for.
