The Marshall County Jail is a medium security facility located in Benton, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. The Marshall County Jail has a mission to ensure all employees are knowledgeable of the baseline standards and are adequately trained to carry out their duties in accordance with standards. How to Send Mail or Package

All inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family. All mail is inspected for contraband. Once the mail is inspected, it is delivered to the inmate. Send mail in the following format:

Inmates can receive packages of clothes that must be sent from a 3rd party provider, such as Amazon or Walmart. The clothes must be received within 14 days from the inmate being booked.

Here is a list of what the inmate can receive:

5 short sleeved cotton tee shirts (white or gray only no words or pics on clothing)
7 pair of socks (white or gray only)
7 pair of underwear (white or gray only)
2 handkerchiefs (white or gray only)
2 sets of long john (waffle type) tops and bottoms (white or gray only)
2 bras, no underwire (female inmates)
2 pair of shorts, cotton gym type shorts (white or gray only)

Draw strings, buttons, zippers, blue jean shorts, sweatshirts or sweat/pajama pants will not be allowed.

Visitation Hours

Inmates being held at the Marshall County Jail are allowed one 20 minute visit per week with friends and family. All visitors must have valid photo identification and sign in legibly on visitors log in the lobby and call in to the Control Room on the intercom to be considered signed in to visit. No cell phones or other recording devices are allowed during visitation.

Visitation hours are as follows:

Male Inmates – Tuesday through Saturday 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM – must be signed in by 10:15 AM

Female Inmates – Tuesday through Saturday 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM – must be signed in by 12:45 PM

The county jail has a restricted custody facility, and the inmates housed in these dorms have different visitation hours. The hours are as follows:

Sunday: Dorm 1 and 2, 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM – must be signed in by 10:15 AM
Sunday: Dorm 3 and 4, 12:00 PM to 2:30 AM – must be signed in by 2:15 PM
Monday: All Dorms, 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM – must be signed in by 10:15 AM

The Fiscal Court provides a record request form, which is available for download. The form must be completed and returned to the court. Requests should be itemized and described as clearly as possible by the applicant. A determination will be made within the timeframe allowed by law and the applicant will be notified accordingly.
