How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. That is because all mail must be able to be fed through a sheet fed scanner. All incoming mail shall be opened, inspected and/or read to determine if contraband is enclosed or any violation of prison rules has occurred. If any is found, mail will be destroyed and not returned.
Pictures are the only enclosures permitted to be mailed to inmates. Each inmate is allowed up to 10 photographs per package, but they must be printed on photo paper. Printouts from the internet, colored pages, and provocative material are not permitted and will be destroyed.
Mail can be sent in the following format:
[Inmate Name – Inmate ID]
Mason County Detention Center
PO Box 76550
Highland Heights, KY 41076
The jail will accept money orders for commissary through the mail to be placed on the inmates account. Families can place money on the inmates account through the commissary kiosk in the front lobby or online using the JailATM website. If at any time the jail believes that money is being placed on another inmate’s account to prevent payment of jail fees, commissary will be stopped for 30 days each time on both inmates.
