The county jail houses both male and female offenders, either county, state, or federal inmates, who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates being held at the county jail are either serving their sentences, awaiting trial, cannot afford bond, or do not have a bond set. Inmates arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Somerset Police Department, Burnside Police Department, Science Hill Police Department, Eubank Police Department, Ferguson Police Department, and the Kentucky State Police are transported to the Pulaski County Jail.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed. Inmates are allowed five photos in their cells. All other photos will be returned to the sender or may be placed in the inmate’s property at the discretion of detention center staff.

Money can be added to an inmate’s commissary account using the website GettingOut. An account must be made to add money. Once the account is made, the Pulaski County Jail must be chosen as the facility and then the inmate can be found using their first and last name. The website accepts credit and debit cards.

Visitation Hours

Inmates have the right to visit with their friends and family while incarcerated. Inmates are entitled to 2 visits per week. All visitors must present a valid photo identification card. Visitation appointments must be scheduled by calling the jail at 606-678-0130.

The office is separated into 8 different divisions: command staff, patrol, investigations, accident reconstruction team, civil process, courthouse security, tax collection, and dispatch. The command staff consists of the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, Investigation’s Supervisor, and the Patrol Supervisors.
