The Rockcastle County Jail is a medium security facility located in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates being held at the county jail are either serving their sentences, awaiting trial, cannot afford bond, or do not have a bond set. The mission of the County Jail is to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for the inmates and staff.The County Jail must carry out the mandates of the citizens, Kentucky Legislature, and the courts. How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed.

Money can be added to an inmate’s commissary account 2 different ways. There is a kiosk located in the lobby of the jail. The kiosk accepts cash, credit and debit cards. The second way to add money to an inmate’s account is by using the website JailFunds. Once on the website, an account must be made. Find the Rockcastle County Jail as the facility and then find the inmate using their first and last name.

Visitation Hours

Inmates have the right to visit with their friends and family while incarcerated. All visits are remote video visitations. An account must be made on the InmateSales website.
