The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. The mission of the County Jail is to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for the inmates and staff.The County Jail must carry out the mandates of the citizens, Kentucky Legislature, and the courts. The current Jailer is Nathan Carter and the assistant Jailer is Howard Haddix.

How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed.

Money can be added to an inmate’s commissary account 2 different ways. There is a kiosk located in the lobby of the jail. The kiosk accepts cash, credit and debit cards. The second way to add money to an inmate’s account is by using the website JailFunds. Once on the website, an account must be made.
