Trigg County does not have their own jail. When someone is arrested in Trigg County, they are transported to the Christian County Jail. The Christian County Jail is a medium security facility located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The jail houses inmates who have been arrested for misdemeanor or felony charges. The county jail is co-ed, with female and male inmates separated in different pods. The inmates held at the county jail are awaiting trial, have been convicted and serving their sentence, or cannot bond out. Inmates may take advantage of rehabilitative programs designed to aid in the return to society. The Christian County Jail meets all standards needed to operate under the laws of Kentucky. Although Trigg County does not have their own jail, they do have a jailer who is responsible for transporting inmates to the Christian County Jail, as well as transporting them back and forth to court. How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed.

Inmates may also receive newspapers, but they must be sent by a mailed subscription, not by a friend or family member.

Friends and family can add money to an inmate’s commissary account online. The website to visit to add funds is JailATM. Money can also be added to an inmate’s calling card account. To add money to the calling card, visit the county jail and use the kiosk located in the lobby.

Visitation Hours

Inmates have the right to visit with their friends and family while incarcerated.Visitation is only through a video at this time. Visitations can take place onsite using a kiosk or remotely. Visitation must be scheduled online using the JailATM website, and can be scheduled up to 2 days in advance. Inmates are allowed 2 fifteen minute videos per week. The onsite visitation schedule is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Remote visitation is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

The Christian County Jail has an inmate jail roster for the public to view. The roster lists all current inmates held in the jail. The jail roster lists the inmate’s full name, birth date, booking date, arresting agency, bond amount, and charges they were arrested for. The roster will specify if the inmate is from Trigg County. Inmates can also be searched by their first and last name.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office is the chief law enforcement agency located in the county. The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing security to District and Circuit courts as well as Grand Jury’s, inmate transportation to and from court, conducting vehicle inspections, and processing applications for concealed carry licenses. Kentucky law mandates that the Sheriff’s Office collect property taxes and distribute the appropriate amounts to each taxing district. The current Sheriff is Aaron Acree.

Trigg County is located in the southwestern region of the state of Kentucky. The county was created in 1820 and named after Stephen Trigg. Stephen Trigg was an officer in the American Revolution War. The county covers a total of 481 square miles, where 40 of those miles are covered by land. The latest census states the population was roughly 14,000. Trigg County is part of the Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The largest city and the county seat is Cadiz.
