Lexington police officers transport individuals who have been arrested in the city to the Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center, also located in Lexington. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. The county jail meets all rules and requirements in the state of Kentucky to operate.

Visitation at the county jail is scheduled online using the jail.LexingtonCounty website. Once the classification of the inmate is known and an account is made, a video visit can be scheduled.
