Louisa police officers transport individuals who have been arrested in the city to the Lawrence County Jail. The county jail is also known as Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. The county jail houses male and female inmates who have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor or felony charges. The jail complies with the Kentucky Jail Standards. Rehabilitation programs and GED classes are offered to the inmates while they are incarcerated.
