Visitation Hours

Inmates can visit with their loved ones during their time of incarceration. Everyone who wishes to visit must be on the approved visitors list, have a valid photo ID and must schedule the visitation ahead of time by contacting the jail.

Anderson County Sheriff Information

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has deputies that patrol the county and answer calls for assistance. The calls range from motorist incidents to criminal activity. The deputies go through a thorough training process before being hired by the Office and must be evaluated each year after being hired on. The office is also responsible for collecting property tax bills. The current Sheriff is Joe Milam.

Anderson County is part of the Frankfort, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Lexington-Fayette-Richmond-Frankfort, KY Combined Statistical Area.The county was founded in 1827 and was given land from adjacent counties including Franklin, Mercer, and Washington. According to the 2020 census, the population was 23,852, with a population density of 106.1 people per square mile. The largest city, and the county seat, is Lawrenceburg.
