The Kenton County Detention Center is a minimum security jail located in Kenton County. The county jail books both male and females and can house up to 650 inmates. Roughly 300 inmates are booked a month and can be viewed on the jail roster. The inmates who are being held at the jail have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony crimes and are federal, state, or county inmates. Inmates are serving sentences, awaiting trial, do not have a bond, or cannot afford to pay their bond.
The county jail currently employs over 35 corrections officers and the current jailer is Marc Fields. The Kenton County Jailer and Deputies strive to make the Jail a Community Institution, and exercise fiscal responsibility, reasonable conditions of confinement, service to the People, and an unwavering commitment to Public Safety.

How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates are allowed to receive correspondences in the form of a postcard from their friends and family while they are being held in the jail. Postcards received will be scanned into the CareaCell kiosk for inmate viewing/reading. The physical postcard will be put into inmate property. Any photos being sent to the inmate must come from a 3rd party provider. Inmates are allowed up to 6 photos in their cell and cannot be larger than 4”x6”. . No hand written letters, envelopes, or money orders are allowed to be sent. ANY incoming mail suspected as contraband will be delivered to the USPS Office of the Inspector General.
Family and friends can purchase the inmate phone time by visiting the lobby of the county jail and using the kiosk. Phone Time may be purchased in the lobby of the Kenton County Detention Center in $5, $10 or $20 denominations between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during visitation on Saturday and Sunday.
Money can be placed on the inmate’s commissary account online using the CareaCell website. Credit and debit cards are accepted.
