The Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center is a minimum security facility located in Lexington, Kentucky. The facility houses both female and male inmates who have been arrested on misdemeanor or felony charges and are awaiting trial. It also houses convicted inmates serving 12 months or less in jail. It also houses some inmates from the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Inmates have access to educational programs, community service programs, and religious services. Colonel Scott Colvin is the Chief of Corrections.

How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates can receive letters from their friends and family while in jail. Any incoming mail will be inspected for contraband. Mail should be addressed to the inmate and must include their ID number. If you do not know the ID number, please contact the jail.
