Lewis County Jail Inmate Search, Arrests and Mugshots

The Lewis County Jail was closed in April 2021. All persons arrested in the county are transported to the Mason County Jail located in Maysfield, Kentucky. The Mason County Jail is a medium-security facility which houses inmates who have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. All inmates are serving out their sentence, awaiting trial, or cannot bond out. The facility is ran by Jailer Lisa Yeary.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates have the right to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the inmate’s name and inmate ID, and must have a return address on the envelope. Mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail is destroyed. Inmates cannot receive stamps, envelopes, stationary, cash, checks, or other forms of currency in their mail.

No more than 10 photos can be sent to an inmate per package. All photos must be printed on photo paper.

The county jail will accept money orders for commissary through the mail to be placed on the inmates account. Families can place money on the inmates account through the commissary kiosk in the front lobby or online using the JAILATM website.

If at any time the jail believes that money is being placed on another inmate’s account to prevent payment of jail fees, commissary will be stopped for 30 days each time on both inmates.

Visitation Hours

On-site visitation will take place with a kiosk via video visitation. All inmates receive 2 fifteen minute video visitations per week. Due to COVID, all visitors must wear a mask unless vaccinated. Visits must be scheduled online on the InmateSales website. The only items permitted to be brought into the facility during visitation are: a government issued I.D. and 1 set of car keys. All other items are to be left in the vehicle. Purses, coats, cameras, and cell phones are not permitted to be brought into the facility.

Visitation hours can be seen on the InmateSales website when the visitation is being scheduled.

The Mason County Jail has an inmate jail roster available for the public to view. The roster lists all current inmates housed in the jail. Inmates can be searched by their first and last name. The jail roster lists the inmate’s full name, birth date, booking date, arresting agency, bond amount, and charges they were arrested for.

Lewis County Public Records Information

Public records are accessible through the Lewis County Clerk’s Office. The Lewis County Clerk’s Office requires that open records requests are submitted using the appropriate form. The Attorney General’s Office has produced a general form that can be printed and submitted to the office. If the applicant cannot print this form, the applicant may make a written request, which shall include the applicant’s name, phone number, address, list of precise documents being requested, residency of the applicant, and any additional information the applicant deems necessary to help this office fulfill the open records request.
