How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates have the right to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed. The mail is copied and the copy of the letter is released to the inmate. Inmates are only allowed to receive letters on regular sized copy paper.
Send mail in the following format:
Inmate’s first and last name
130 North Court Street

Inmates can purchase commissary, such as food and hygiene products. Friends and family can add money to their commissary accounts three different ways. The first way is with money orders. Money orders can be dropped off at S.C.D.C. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or mailed in to the inmate. Money orders need “inmate’s first and last name / SCDC” as well as the purchaser’s name and address. The second way is by using the lobby kiosk, or another jail that uses Trinity Swanson Services’ kiosk, to look up the inmate in the facility. The kiosk will take cash or credit cards to deposit money on the account. There are fees associated with each transaction. The third way is using the JailFunds website. Once an account is made, look up “Kentucky” and then look up “Scott County Detention Center”. Then type in the inmate’s name. Use a credit card to place money on an inmate’s account up to $1000.00 per online transaction plus transaction fee.
