The Ohio County Jail is a minimum security facility located in Hartford, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates being held at the county jail are either serving their sentences, awaiting trial, cannot afford bond, or do not have a bond set. The mission of the County Jail is to protect the citizens of Ohio County by providing a safe and secure environment for all inmates. The County Jail provides programs intended to reduce the occurrence of re-incarceration. The current jailer is Landon Spurlock.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed.

The only way to add funds to an inmate’s commissary account is by visiting the jail lobby. The jail only accepts cash.The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Upon making a deposit, a receipt will be issued.

Family and friends can bring inmates the clothing Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. The clothing must be new and in the original packaging. The clothes that can be dropped off include Six pairs of white socks, six pairs of white underwear, six white t-shirts, one bra (females only), one gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants between November and February only, and one pair of shower shoes with no buckles or straps.

Visitation Hours

The Ohio County Jail offers remote visitations using the InmateSales website. An account must be made. Once the account is made, the facility and inmate can be added. There is a fee to visit with an inmate. Visitation hours are listed on the website.

The Ohio County Jail offers a Jail Roster for the public to view all current inmates. The roster includes the mugshot of the inmate, the physical description of the inmate, the charges the inmate was arrested for, and their arrest date.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is the predominant law enforcement agency located in the county. The office provides 24 hour, 365 days a year service to the public. The office provides police protection, official paper service, vehicle inspections, the issuance of concealed carry licenses, and fingerprinting for the area of Ohio County.
