The Oldham County Jail is a minimum security facility located in La Grange, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates being held at the county jail are either serving their sentences, awaiting trial, cannot afford bond, or do not have a bond set. The mission of the jail is to maintain Care, Custody, and Control of all persons housed in the facility, while keeping the staff and public safety of utmost importance. There are 11 command staff employees. There are 6 sergeants, 2 lieutenants, 1 major, 1 chief deputy, and a jailer. The jailer oversees the entire operation of the jail. The current jailer is Jeff Tindall.

How to Send Mail or Package

The inmates housed at the Oldham County Jail are entitled to receive mail from their friends and family. Any outgoing and incoming mail must not violate any State or Federal Law or the security of the Oldham County Jail. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed and the local authorities will be contacted. Inmates will not be allowed to receive stamps, stamped envelopes, magazines, advertisements, newspapers or newspaper clippings through the mail. Books can be sent to inmates from a third party provider, such as Amazon.

Visitation Hours

Inmates have the right to visit with friends and family while incarcerated. Inmates are allowed two forty minute visits per week. All visits use video recording. Visitation must be scheduled online using the InmateSales website or by calling 1-877-998-5678. Visitation is offered daily.

The Oldham County Jail offers a Jail Roster for the public to view all current inmates. The roster includes the mugshot of the inmate, the physical description of the inmate, the charges the inmate was arrested for, and their arrest date.

Public judicial records from the Oldham County Jail can be requested using the record request form provided by the jail. A detailed description of the record being requested and the requester’s contact information is needed. Oldham County Jail has five business days after receipt of the request to issue a response by statute. The response shall include whether the record may be inspected or may not be inspected, or that the record is unavailable and when the record is expected to be available.
