The Menifee County Jail is a minimum security facility located in Frenchburg, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates being held at the county jail are either serving their sentences, awaiting trial, cannot afford bond, or do not have a bond set. The Menifee County Jail provides programs intended to reduce the occurrence of re-incarceration. The current jailer is Eddie Maze​.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family while incarcerated. All incoming mail must be addressed with the Inmate name and Inmate ID and have a return address on the envelope. All incoming mail must be in the form of a letter or postcard. All mail is opened and inspected for contraband. If contraband is found, the mail will be destroyed.

Visitation Hours

Inmates have the right to visit with their friends and family while incarcerated. Inmates are entitled to 2 visits per week. All visitors must present a valid photo identification card. Visitation hours are subject to change. Contact the jail at (606) 768-2797 for current visitation hours and to schedule an appointment.

The Menifee County Jail does not have a current jail roster. For information on an inmate, contact the jail. Although there is not a current roster, the Menifee County Sheriff’s Office does post mugshots and charges of people who have been arrested on their Facebook page.

The deputies in the office respond to calls for service, make traffic stops and make arrests. The office personnel are responsible for collecting taxes for the county. The county covers a total of 206 square miles. According to the latest census, the population is approximately 6,000-making the county the 5th least populated county in the state. Menifee County is part of the Mount Sterling, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Lexington-Fayette-Richmond-Frankfort, KY Combined Statistical Area. The largest city and the county seat is Frenchburg.
